Oonmona (she/her) is pursuing her MPhil in Global and Area Studies. Her research is on conflict resolution and peacebuilding mechanisms in African and South Asian indigenous and ethnic communities and is specifically looking at how women interact and participate in such settings.

Asmita Sarkar

Asmita (she/her) is an DPhil student working on the history of X-rays in colonial and post-colonial India. Her research is funded by the Oxford-Merton Roger Highfield Graduate Scholarship.

Asma Shakeel

Asma (she/her) is pursuing an MSt in Global and Imperial History as a Rhodes Scholar. Her research examines the imperial ideologies of British missionaries and educationists stationed in Kashmir from the late medieval to early modern era using CMS missionary archives.

Jatin Abhir

Jatin Abhir (any pronouns) is pursuing a Masters in Global and Imperial History. Their research focuses on British geographical surveys in southern India and Java in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

Avin Houro

Avin (she/her) is pursuing an MSt in Global and Imperial History. Her research involves a visual exploration of Kurdish historical culture and memory, and the role of contemporary Kurdish art as an anti-colonial counter-archive.

Adrita Mitra

Adrita (she/her) is a DPhil student researching African and diasporic women’s networks and how they articulated identity, sovereignty and consent in opposition to colonialism in King Leopold's Congo.
